Dragged and Divine: I Got Laid Off. On the Capricorn Full Moon. And I Feel... Free. Like JT said, “I'on work jobs, bitch, I am a job.” 😂
I got laid off today, on my day off. During a Full Moon. In Capricorn. And I’m a Capricorn Sun in the 10th house of career. You really can’t script it better than that. I was just trying to rest, y’all. And instead, I got released.
The timing? Impeccable. Divine. Messy. Liberating. All of it.
Because Capricorn energy is about legacy. Responsibility. Status. Structure.
And this full moon was not playing with me. It asked: Who are you when your role disappears? What are you still clinging to that doesn’t serve the version of you you’ve become?
Whew.
If you listened to the episode a few weeks ago: I Said What I Said… But Now I Feel Like Shit, you already know I’d been wrestling with something I couldn’t name. Restless. Unclear. Writing and rewriting. Starting and stopping. Trying to push through a fog that I now realize… was Spirit clearing the path.
I had been trying to rework my role. To stretch it. Expand it. Make it match the woman I was becoming. But the truth? It couldn’t contain me anymore. So Spirit did what I wouldn’t do on my own. Let it go.
Yes, I’m processing. Yes, I’m a little stunned. But I’m also clear. This is a reset.
And the only decision I’m making for the rest of July is not to make any decisions at all.
This month is not for fixing. It’s for breathing. It’s for being. It’s for remembering that I am not my job. Say it with me now: You are not your job. You are not your title. You are not your Slack status or your Outlook calendar. You are who you’ve always been even when you’re in-between.
If you’ve ever been laid off, let go, or found yourself starting over before you felt ready, I’m with you. Fully. No shame. Just space.
So what now? Now I create. Not after hours. Not on the edges of my energy. Now I pour into myself and into The Mediocre Black Woman all the way.
And if you’re in your own season of shedding, searching, or returning to yourself, I want to invite you to join me in Spades & Shade.
It’s not just a tarot course. It’s a reflective series for Black women who are ready to trust themselves more deeply. To see their truth in the cards. To find clarity, not just answers. We start July 18. You don’t need to be “ready.” You just need to show up.
Tap in here to join us. And if you register by July 18 at 3:30 PM CT, use the code CUTTHAT for $22 off.
Let the job go. Let the version of you that was tied to it go too. What’s coming is better. And more you.
With clarity and no calendar holds,
Goddess Thea
